Head making machine for paint brushes

Description

Paint brush head assembling machine for straight brushes up to 100 mm and angle brushes up to 90 mm. The filling material (natural bristle, mixtures or 100% synthetic filaments) is loaded by hand or automatically by the feeding unit AST75.
The dosing is made inside a cell, electronically adjustable for maximum precision. The ferrules loaded in the vertical magazine or coming from a vibration feeder are driven by 2 conveyor belts servo controlled, with possibility to change speed and acceleration.
In the following stations 5 vibrators align the filaments and set them correctly for the introduction of the wedges (1 or 2). Aiming to get the best setting for bristles or synthetics, each vibrator is adjustable independently.
The cutting of the wedges is operated by heavy duty frame cutters, with ball bearing sitting blades and step motor driven conveying rollers which can be set at 0° or 14°.
The beating device aligning the filaments to the edge of the ferrule together with a set of frontal pliers, the trimming device (optional) and the pulling pliers also coupled with the back tampon pushing device (optional) end the assembling process.
The whole cutters group sits on a retractile carriage (adjustable to 0° or 90°) which allows the quick check of the set-up and the maintenance operations,
The conveying speed of the filaments, the dosing, the positioning and speed of the introducing pliers, length of the wedges and other parameters are programmable and can be stored in recipes.
The programming and control operations as well as the recipe storage are made on the wide touch-screen display, positioned on the electric enclosure console.
In case of faults an extended net of sensors gives to the operator detailed reports and instructions for restoring the correct functionality with textual and graphic information.
The control system including PLC, servo drives, inverters, HMI, pneumatic valve controls and sensors, are connected in Ethernet.
